Biography
Clear Light ranks among the more memorable psychedelic one-offs from the 1960s, issuing a lone album on Elektra before disbanding. The band’s California psychedelia closely followed the style of fellow Elektra acts Love, Tim Buckley, and especially the Doors, a link explained by their collaboration with the same producer Paul Rothchild and engineer Bruce Botnick. Several members later built notable careers: Douglas Lubahn played bass on several Doors albums, Dallas Taylor drummed for Crosby, Stills, & Nash, keyboardist Ralph Schuckett became a prolific session musician, and Cliff De Young became a prolific TV movie actor.
