Biography

In April 1989 guitarist Toño Ruiz joined bassist Zitto Martínez, keyboardist Diego Benyure, drummer Chucho Esquivel, and singer Salvador Aguilar to establish Coda. Their first recording, Tiempo Perfecto, reached stores in 1990. Allan Pérez took over bass duties from Zitto Martínez while David Melchor assumed keyboard responsibilities formerly held by Diego Benyure, after which Brazilian Carlos Maluli produced Enciéndelo. Robin Black later helmed a second U.K. edition of the same album. Veinte Para las Doce arrived next in 1995. Following the 1997 release of Nivel 3, Coda chose to enter a hiatus period.
