In the wake of the 2001 breakthroughs by young rappers Lil' Bow Wow and Lil' Romeo, Motown naturally followed suit by introducing its own youthful talent, Corey. Corey distinguished himself from those predecessors by focusing on singing rather than rapping, bringing an appealing cuteness highlighted by his prominent toothy grin. His 2002 introduction came via the lively track "Hush Lil' Lady," which included Romeo to broaden its appeal, alongside the album I'm Just Corey that also showcased "MVP" with Shaquille O'Neal and "All I Do" featuring Michael Jackson.
