Coven

Hailing from Seattle, Washington, the thrash outfit Coven stood as yet another regional act that never managed to extend its local popularity beyond state lines or overseas. The group's lineup included frontman Jay Clark along with guitarists Paul Hash and Dean Babbitt, bassist Gary Peebles, and drummer Neal Babbitt. Their output was limited to a pair of releases on the small Medusa imprint—Blessed Is the Black in 1988 and Death Walks Behind You in 1989—prior to their initial dissolution. A reunion effort five years afterward saw the band reform as a quartet and issue the strangely titled Boneless Christian album, though insufficient interest from listeners once more led to their disbandment.
