Biography
Bringing a mix of sharp wit and effortless poise, Canadian rapper D-Pryde entered the spotlight in 2013 through the release of his EP Canal & Richvale. Russell Gilbert Llantino, born in Mississauga, Ontario and raised in Brampton, Ontario, first gained notice by posting clips across multiple online platforms before committing his skills to a physical format in 2011 via the MARS mixtape. Following a Canadian tour as the opening act for J. Cole, D-Pryde secured a deal with major label BMG in 2012. The imprint then issued his hit single "Lifted" the following year, paired with the aforementioned debut EP Canal & Richvale.
