Biography
The Edinburgh pair Marc Dall and Alex Ander, who had earlier issued recordings under the name Young Hunting through the prominent British underground imprint Blackest Ever Black, now record as Dalhous. Their work continues to mine the same shadowy sonic wellsprings that defined the earlier project, folding in cinematic references—above all the films of Jack Bond and Jane Arden—alongside broader textural layers. In December 2012 the duo issued its two-track 10" debut, Mitchell Heisman, on BEB. The release’s robust electronics and weighty bass presence summoned the experimental post-punk of Coil as well as fellow labelmates Raime, drawing widespread critical praise. Early in 2013 the pair disclosed that its first full-length studio album, An Ambassador for Laing, would appear the following spring.
