Biography
Guitarist and songwriter Dan Schwartz performs under the nom de plume Danny Black while remaining a member of the Philly-based indie folk trio Good Old War. His knotty and evocative instrumental guitar pieces draw inspiration from six- and 12-string legends including Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, and Robert Fripp. Once Good Old War issued its fourth studio long-player, Broken Into Better Shape, in 2015, Black started demoing the instrumentals he had assembled during tours. He traveled to New Jersey in 2016 to track his debut album. Adventure Soundtrack, a progressive folk, blues, and rock-inspired showcase captured on acoustic, electric, and 12-string guitar, appeared on Nettwerk the following year.
