Daryl Ong

Daryl Ong, a Filipino pop singer known for his smooth romantic delivery, achieved widespread recognition across the country in 2014 after competing on season two of the reality series The Voice of the Philippines. His breakthrough arrived two years later when the romantic ballad “Stay” topped charts and served as the theme for the hit teleserye On the Wings of Love.

Born in Puerto Princesa, Ong began developing his vocal abilities early on, performing with neighborhood pop ensembles and auditioning for televised competitions such as Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2005 and Pinoy Idol in 2009. He later joined the boy band Voices of 5, whose 2013 album featured multiple original compositions written by Ong himself. Around the same period he contributed animation work to the long-running children’s program Super Inggo while continuing to upload original material to YouTube as a singer-songwriter.

His first significant national exposure came when he advanced to the semifinals of The Voice of the Philippines season two in 2014. The following year he issued his self-titled debut solo album. In 2016 he followed up with the full-length release Minus One and scored another wave of radio success over the subsequent twenty-four months through the singles “Darna, Ikaw Na” and “Mahal Parin Kita.”
