Dave's True Story

Dave's True Story originated in Manhattan after songwriter and guitarist David Cantor linked up with singer Kelly Flint through ties in the New York music circuit. Flint displayed a natural ease with Cantor's sharp, often suggestive material composed in the manner of Porter and Gershwin. On their independent BePop imprint the duo issued their self-titled debut in 1996, then developed an audience through repeated engagements at New York clubs and regional tours across the Northeast. Sex Without Bodies followed as their second album in 1998, with Unauthorized appearing in early 2000.
