Dayang Nurfaizah

Dayang Nurfaizah binti Awang Dowty came into the world on July 20, 1981, in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. As a pop singer she maintained a career defined by both steady output and widespread appeal. Her opening release, issued under her own name in 1999, scored an immediate commercial breakthrough. Roughly ten additional well-received projects appeared across the ensuing decade. She then took the unexpected step of entering the reality series One in a Million, drawing criticism from observers who considered her an established professional in a contest intended for newcomers. She nevertheless reached the final four before viewers eliminated her. After that television run, she issued the album Dayang in 2007. The multi-award winning artist also started a label, called DN & AD Entertainment. It was in place in time for her to release her fourth album -- Dayang Sayang Kamu -- on the label in 2004.
