Biography
Amy Mastura, born in Malaysia on May 10, 1971, first built her reputation through pop vocal performances before later securing recognition as an actress in multiple romantic comedy features. Her initial exposure came at the 1993 Asia Bagus showcase in Japan. In 1995 she received the Penyanyi Wanita Popular Award for her debut release, Amy Mastura, and simultaneously entered acting with a role in the film Kuala Lumpur Universiti. Additional screen appearances accumulated afterward, while nearly ten hit albums issued across a decade further elevated her profile. Having begun her recording career in the Pony Canyon artist roster, Mastura used her expanding success across film and music to move to Sony for her fourth album, Bintang Hati. Strong commercial results accompanied a series of awards honoring both her recorded material and her cinematic contributions.
