Aishah

Born in Malaysia under the name Wah Aishah binti Wan Ariffin, singer Aishah began her career as lead vocalist of the Fan Club, a rock band based in New Zealand. Operating from the late 1980s through the early 1990s, the group issued multiple hit singles and put out its debut album, Sensation, in 1988. The outfit received a major accolade at the New Zealand Music Awards in 1991 before dissolving soon afterward. Aishah, who had initially traveled to New Zealand as a student, later returned to Malaysia and restarted her professional path as a solo performer specializing in Malay-language songs.
