Deantoni Parks, the one-of-a-kind drummer born in Georgia and now based in New York, has lent his talents to recordings that traverse an array of forward-leaning styles. Memberships in the new wave contortionists Kudu and the art rockers Bosnian Rainbows form part of his background. In both studio and live settings he has performed and recorded alongside Yohimbe Brothers, Alice Smith, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, the Mars Volta, John Cale, and Flying Lotus. Under his own name Parks has issued original productions that extend from high-powered synth pop instrumentals to chopped-up beatscapes. The 2012 album Touch But Don't Look appeared on RLP, the label run by his frequent collaborator Omar Rodríguez-López. Three years afterward Technoself came out on the Stones Throw-affiliated Leaving label.
