Delux emerged from Tijuana, Mexico, onto the expanding global punk circuit during the summer of 2000. Drawing from 1980s new wave and Southern California punk, the band favors melodic pop-punk, marked by memorable hooks and choruses built for singing along. Extensive touring across the U.S. and Mexico throughout 2004 and 2005 helped the group cultivate a loyal American audience while establishing widespread recognition at home. Their first album, the self-titled Delux, appeared in 2005, securing steady radio rotation and yielding three music videos. Selection for the 2006 Warped Tour lineup marked a significant step forward, as Delux became just the third all-Spanish-language act featured in the event’s 11-year run. Plans for that same year called for ongoing performances throughout the U.S., Latin America, and Europe alongside the launch of their second album.
