A violinist grounded in classical training, Diana Yukawa has shifted toward a contemporary popular approach on her instrument. At age fifteen she issued her debut recording, La Campanella (released in the UK as Elegy), a collection of short classical pieces. The album became a bestseller in Japan, and the following year, 2001, saw the arrival of Concerto, which highlighted music by Camille Saint-Saëns. Eight years passed before she delivered her third album, The Butterfly Effect, built around her own compositions that fuse lyrical melodies, instrumental accompaniment, and occasional dance beats inside polished productions. This contemporary popular direction has brought her clear success. She has performed with musicians such as Jeff Beck, Paul Oakenfold, Craig Armstrong, John Foxx, Deen, and Katherine Jenkins, as well as at events including the 2012 Dubai World Cup and the Tivoli Festival in Copenhagen, and as part of the Canadian multimedia spectacular Vincero alongside soprano Anne-Marie Faniel.
