Biography
Soul vocalist Dionne Bromfield first drew widespread attention in 2009, when her debut album climbed into the Top 40 on the English charts. With neo-soul singer Amy Winehouse serving as her godmother, the thirteen-year-old shaped her style around 1960s girl groups, classic R&B, and vintage soul. That family connection supplied ready access to industry resources, so Bromfield recorded with producer Jon Moon—who had contributed to the deluxe edition of Back to Black—and with Winehouse’s regular touring musicians. The sessions yielded the introductory album Introducing Dionne Bromfield, on which she revisited soul numbers from the 1960s and early 1970s.
