Dirkschneider

During 2016, Udo Dirkschneider—the German metal icon who had fronted the power metal outfit Accept at the height of its commercial success in the 1980s—declared he would remove every Accept song from his performances. To accommodate longtime followers after performing and recording as U.D.O. since 1987, he launched a tour under the name Dirkschneider devoted exclusively to Accept material, thereby bringing that portion of his career to a definitive close. Strong audience demand prompted extensions that carried the shows through 2017 and into later years. AFM Records later issued the concert album and film Live: Back to the Roots, drawn from a December 2016 performance in Brno, Czech Republic.
