Warlock

Led by ex-model Doro Pesch, Warlock emerged as a German metal outfit whose lineup featured guitarists Rudy Graf and Peter Szigeti, bassist Frank Rittel, and drummer Michael "Micha" Eurich. The band took shape in 1982 and drew strong inspiration from fellow European metal acts such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Accept, both in sound and in the themes explored through its lyrics. In 1984 the five-piece released its first album, Burning the Witches, then delivered Hellbound the following year and True As Steel in 1986, the latter coinciding with a performance at England’s Castle Donington festival; Triumph and Agony arrived in 1987. By 1988 Warlock had dissolved, freeing Pesch to begin her solo work.
