Originating from Raleigh, North Carolina, the four-piece outfit Dish revolves around Dana Kletter, who handles both vocals and piano. Her background includes rigorous classical instruction that fostered a deep appreciation for Brahms and Mendelssohn while also embracing country and rock. Entry into alternative circles occurred when her Washington, D.C. hardcore roommates from the 1980s drew her in, resulting in backing vocal contributions to Hole’s pivotal album Live Through This. The group’s first release, Boneyard Beach, appeared in 1995.
