Manuel de la Calva and Ramón Arcusa first crossed paths during their employment at an aviation firm. Bonding over a shared musical passion at a holiday gathering, the pair chose to embark on a professional singing journey under the moniker Duo Dinamico. Their initial steps involved a radio broadcast appearance and the release of their debut EP in 1959, which included the tracks "Little Darling," "Alone," "Cowboy," and "Recordandote." Before long, Duo Dinamico shared stages with artists like Luis Mariano, Lucho Gatica, and the Platters, while also securing lead parts in films including Boton De Ancla and Buscame A Esa Chica. They composed "La, la, la," the winning entry for Massiel at the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest. Following a 1972 recording session in London produced by George Martin, both Ramón Arcusa and Manuel de la Calva shifted their focus toward discovering and nurturing new talent, as well as penning material for notable Latin musicians. Sony Music brought them on board in 1986 for a self-titled album, and this was succeeded by En Forma, which showcased "Resistiré"—a track selected by Pedro Almodóvar for the soundtrack of his film Atame. Dúo Dinámico maintained their live performances over subsequent years, culminating in the 2007 premiere of Quisiera Ser, a theatrical production incorporating 24 of their popular songs, at Madrid's Teatro Nuevo Apolo.
