Biography
Hailing from Austin, Dylan Gossett taps into the reflective, direct strain of country music native to central Texas. Much like Zach Bryan, he leans on minimal arrangements and narrative focus, traits that defined his first EP, No Better Time, which arrived in 2023 and spotlighted the online sensation “Coal.”
Early on, Ed Sheeran and Mumford & Sons shaped his sound, yet he later embraced Red Dirt acts such as Turnpike Troubadours. While enrolled at Texas A&M, he sharpened his craft as a vocalist and tunesmith. In his early twenties Gossett began posting tracks online, moving to social media in 2023. Once “Coal” caught fire, he kept listeners engaged with a version of the Lumineers’ “Ophelia” before issuing “To Be Free.” Those releases led to shows supporting Brent Cobb and Wyatt Flores, yielding enough material for an EP. No Better Time appeared in October 2023, its cover art portraying Gossett with an acoustic guitar in his bedroom—an image underscoring the songs’ domestic origins. Less than a month later he joined the roster of Big Loud Texas/Mercury Records.
