Biography
Long before Peter Perrett rose to attention as the driving force behind the new wave outfit the Only Ones, he led England’s Glory while channeling the vocal manner of Lou Reed. The band, whose direction rested on Perrett’s singing and songwriting and also featured future Squeeze bassist Harry Kakoulli, laid down numerous demo recordings in early 1973 yet secured neither a release nor any performing traction. Well after the Only Ones had dissolved, an archival collection in the late ’80s finally brought many of those early tapes to listeners.
