The Pirates

Formed initially as the three-piece unit supporting Johnny Kidd, the group kept going for decades after the singer perished in a mid-'60s automobile accident. With Mick Green on lead guitar—the player who had performed with just about everybody over the years, among them the sessions for Paul McCartney's Choba B CCCP and Run Devil Run—the musicians returned to their punk roots during the late '70s and early '80s, sustaining live work until Green's death in January of 2010.
