Biography
Eddie Rayner, Split Enz keyboardist, spearheaded the Enzso initiative in partnership with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, conductor Peter Scholes, and the New Zealand National Youth Choir. Their collaboration produced fully symphonic, orchestrated interpretations of Split Enz classics. Former Enz members Neil Finn and Tim Finn supplied lead vocals alongside Annie Crummer, Dave Dobbyn, and Sam Hunt on the newly arranged pieces. Epic-Australia issued the resulting Enzso album in 1996, where it enjoyed strong commercial performance in both Australia and New Zealand, a reception mirrored by the project’s touring presentation. Sony Music later brought the recording to the US several months afterward, adding multi-media content to the release.
