Biography
Eric Kaz has pursued a steady, workmanlike path as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist within American popular music. During the mid-1960s he served as pianist for Children of Paradise, the ensemble that included the folk performers Happy and Artie Traum. From 1969 to 1970 he belonged to the pop/rock outfit the Blues Magoos; immediately afterward Atlantic Records signed him as a solo artist, resulting in a pair of albums issued in the early 1970s. Although his own recordings never gained wide traction, prominent artists such as Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt cut his material. In 1976 he helped form American Flyer, which released two albums before Kaz joined fellow member Craig Fuller for a duo project issued by Columbia in 1978.
