Ermal Meta

An Albanian-Italian musician named Ermal Meta produces tracks that fuse persistent dance rhythms, lively pop hooks, and silky, emotive singing. Born in Fier, Albania, during 1981, he relocated with his relatives to Bari, Italy, upon turning thirteen. Guitar work occupied him in the Italian group Ameba4, whose debut record issued under their own name appeared in 2006. Joining La Fame di Camilla in 2007, he performed as the ensemble’s principal vocalist and chief songwriter through the outfit’s dissolution in 2013. While affiliated with La Fame di Camilla, Meta also supplied material for Chiara, Annalisa, Patty Pravo, and numerous further Italian performers. Beginning an independent trajectory in 2013, he issued his first album, Umano, in 2016. The 2017 successor Vietato Morire climbed to the summit of Billboard’s Italian International chart.
