Biography
Ethic Entertainment assembled four individual performers—Rekles, Swat Mtoto wa Eunice, Seska, and Zilla—into a unit that helped launch Gengetone. The style merges selected traits of rap, reggaeton, and dancehall with a forceful vocal delivery that emerged from Kenyan streets. Among the earliest acts to gain traction, the group illustrated the sound through a series of singles, among them “Daktari” in 2020.
The four artists converged in 2018 to record the joint track “Lamba Lolo.” Each had previously operated alone, yet the collaboration proved sufficiently potent that they redirected their work toward shared releases. In the two years that followed, Ethic Entertainment put out several singles. Their profile rose in tandem with other Gengetone acts such as Zzero Sufuri and Ochungulo Family. A 2019 link-up with Boondocks Gang on the single “Thao” became a major success for both sides, with its video accumulating millions of streams.
