Born as Brian Ouko Robert in 1990, Khaligraph Jones spent his formative years in one of Kenya's high-risk neighborhoods, where direct exposure to crime and economic hardship later infused his songwriting once he started composing rhymes and shaping a rap approach during adolescence. Consistent releases that earned steady praise gradually positioned him among Kenya's leading rappers, as his style merged street-hardened grit with mainstream polish across a career that began in his late teens and attained wider reach on the 2018 album Testimony 1990.

Victory at the Channel O Emcee Africa contest in 2009 immediately delivered nationwide recognition, after which inventive freestyle cyphers became a hallmark of his work. The 2012 single "Tema ma Verse," recorded with Abbas Kubaff, followed, and his debut studio album Point of No Return appeared in 2014. Frequent radio play and guest appearances on other rappers' tracks lifted his profile still higher, leading him to issue Autograph before the year ended, a set drawn from previously available material.

In the years that followed he put out singles spanning multiple styles and released the 2015 mixtape Eff Off, developments that preceded Testimony 1990 in 2018. By then established as one of Kenya's foremost rappers, he sustained a flow of new music while supporting emerging artists, then delivered the 2020 mixtape The Take Over.
