American actress Evan Rachel Wood built a wide-ranging career that stretched from the award-winning HBO series Westworld to independent films such as Pretty Persuasion. Her breakthrough arrived with the 2003 award-winning teen drama Thirteen. While maintaining an acting schedule, the North Carolina native contributed her vocals to the soundtracks of the 2007 musical Across the Universe and the 2019 animated feature Frozen 2.

Raised in a theatrical family in Raleigh, North Carolina, Wood began performing at only a few months old in her father’s community theater production, Theater in the Park. After appearing in a string of minor films during the 1990s, she achieved her first major recognition in Thirteen, portraying troubled teen Tracy Freeland. That performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination and a place on Vanity Fair’s list of “It Girls of Hollywood.” Throughout the 2000s she secured prominent parts in the independent features Pretty Persuasion and Down in the Valley, as well as in Ryan Murphy’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy Running with Scissors.

Wood made her musical debut in Across the Universe, playing the character Lucy and performing the soundtrack selections “Hold Me Tight,” “It Won’t Be Long,” “If I Fell,” “Dear Prudence,” “Because,” and “Blackbird.” After accumulating further credits in the 2000s and 2010s, including substantial roles in the HBO series True Blood and Westworld, she returned to music for Frozen 2. Voicing Queen Iduna, she supplied vocals for several key tracks, most notably the theatrical number “Show Yourself.”
