Biography
Brooklyn's EZTV originated as the solo endeavor of vocalist, guitarist, and audio engineer Ezra Tenenbaum, whose early work drew from the hazy, jangly power pop of Cleaners from Venus, Emitt Rhodes, and Shoes. After laying down initial demos on his eight-track recorder, Tenenbaum brought in bassist Shane O'Connell and Michael Stasiak, previously the drummer for Widowspeak, to expand the material. The resulting debut album was produced by Jarvis Taveniere of Woods; its first signpost arrived with the April 2015 7" Dust in the Sky, followed by the full release of Calling Out that July. EZTV handled recording and production duties themselves for the more polished 2016 album High in Place, enlisting additional contributors such as Jenny Lewis, Chris Cohen, Quilt's John Andrews, and Real Estate's Martin Courtney and Matt Kallman.
