Fernando Castro

Fernando Castro came into the world in Seville, Spain, where his earliest connection to music formed during his time as an altar boy in the neighborhood church. Enlisting in the Spanish Army as a late teenager, he took a seat in the infantry band and began composing original material in his spare hours. Three years after that, the loss of his mother prompted the 21-year-old to devote himself entirely to writing and delivering his own songs, an expressive fusion of piano ballads and flamenco. Appearances at local venues across Seville built the assurance he needed to cut his first album, the self-titled Fernando Castro, which appeared in 2007.
