Biography
The Cincinnati, Ohio-based quintet Foxy Shazam crafts a wildly chaotic blend of piano, guitar, screaming vocals, double-kickdrum percussion, and rock & roll spectacle. Eric Nally (vocals), Loren Turner (guitar), bassist Daisy, pianist Sky White, and drummer Joe Halberstadt formed the group in 2004 and began tracking their debut album The Flamingo Trigger that year, with sessions extending into early 2005 before they promoted its June release through a string of headlining dates. New Weatherman Records took notice of the band's energetic fusion of styles and signed them, prompting a second studio visit that yielded Introducing Foxy Shazam, which arrived in early 2008 through a partnership with Ferret Music. The outfit stepped up to major-label ranks in 2009 by joining Sire Records, which issued the self-titled third album Foxy Shazam in 2010; the well-received release gave the band its first Billboard chart entry at number 151. Their fourth album, The Church of Rock and Roll, followed in 2012.
