Gaz

The disco outfit Gaz took shape under the leadership of keyboardist Thor Baldursson, who also composed or shared songwriting credit on most of its tracks. His chief associates in the venture were guitarist Mats Bjoerklund and producer Jürgen Korduletsch. Salsoul, the storied imprint, put out the group’s sole album—a self-titled release—in 1978, with the 12" single “Sing Sing” serving as its centerpiece, a cut later interpolated by countless breakbeat-driven hip-hop acts.
