Biography

After vocalist/guitarist Kevin Kane, a founding member of Canada's acclaimed Grapes of Wrath, departed amid the familiar tensions of musical and personal differences, his former bandmates Chris Hooper on drums, Tom Hooper handling vocals, bass, and guitars, and Vincent Jones on keyboards continued as the comparably melodic and satisfying Ginger. Returning to the Nettwerk Records imprint that had first supported Grapes of Wrath, the group issued a self-titled EP limited to Canadian markets in 1993, followed by the full-length Far Out the next year. That album reached U.S. listeners in 1995, and the band maintained its momentum with Suddenly I Came to My Senses, which appeared on EMI Canada in late 1996.
