Giovanni

Born into a distinguished musical family, pianist Giovanni entered the world as the son of Italian trumpeter and conductor Alfredo Marradi, whose own ancestor—the poet and composer Giovanni Marradi—had already earned legendary renown. He first touched the piano keys at the age of five and, three years afterward, entered the Russian Conservatory to refine his compositional and technical skills; in the period that followed, his output proved astonishingly abundant, with as many as ten original pieces often completed in a single week. Establishing NewCastle Records as an independent outlet, he simultaneously launched the weekly television program Giovanni's World of Music, while regular QVC Network segments further expanded his global audience and enabled a striking commercial feat—one twelve-minute appearance moved more than 100,000 units. Atlantic welcomed him aboard in 1998, and Destiny appeared under that imprint early the next year. Summer 1999 brought Classic Nights, followed later in the same season by The Magic of Christmas.
