New Jersey rapper Godard cultivates an otherworldly style, frequently delivering verses across productions that weave in ethereal strings alongside hazy synth textures. Projects such as the 2023 album Post Mortem: Love & Death appeared before a remix of his track "She Know What She Wanted" brought wider notice the next year.
His earliest output emerged during the 2020s, beginning with the 2022 mixtape Click Yes to Say Ok and continuing with Post Mortem: Love & Death one year later. Also arriving in 2023 was the EP I'm Him, which included multiple joint tracks alongside Mosaic Sol. In January 2024 Godard put out two iterations of "She Know What She Wanted," the original cut and a Jersey Club Remix made with Ziahfyah. The version slowed down from that Jersey Club remix, issued in February 2024, ultimately drew the strongest response, climbing to number 12 on Billboard's TikTok Top 50 chart.
