Emerging from Austin's vibrant Texas music community, the Greyhounds pair guitarist Andrew Trube with keyboardist Anthony Farrell in a duo whose sound fuses R&B, soul, funk, and Buck Owens's Bakersfield country into the hybrid described as "Hall & Oates meets ZZ Top." Their high-energy performances quickly built a devoted and expansive audience. The two musicians first connected in the late '90s and at once began composing and performing as a unit, landing material with Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks while steadily expanding their catalog and attracting fresh listeners through constant touring. They later secured a three-album agreement with the revived Ardent Records—then formally operating as Ardent Music—and issued Accumulator in early 2014. Two years afterward came Change of Pace, an album that highlighted the pair's soul-oriented strengths.
