Biography
Forming in 1992, the Hank Dogs developed their folk stylings via singer/songwriter Andy Allen, arranger Piano, and their daughter Lily Ramona. The group’s first appearance took place at South London’s Easycome Acoustic Club, where producer Jon Kertzer noticed them. After an extended stay in London he returned to his hometown of Seattle to join the Bumbershoot Festival in 1998, bringing the Hank Dogs along and readying them for the rootsy debut album Bareback. Critical success greeted the release, as the band earned a standing ovation at Bumbershoot, toured the U.S., and saw WXPN in Philadelphia name Bareback Record of the Month. Four years later the Hank Dogs secured a deal with spinART and released Half Smile in May 2002.
