Folk rock attraction Heron counted among the acts attached to Red Bus agency and to the Dawn label, which also housed Mungo Jerry and Mike Cooper. Their 1970 self-titled debut displayed the group’s melodic command and appeared in tandem with the Penny Concert Tour, where they shared stages alongside progressive rock acts Comus and Titus Groan plus Afro-rock practitioners Demon Fuzz. The lineup of Roy Apps (guitar/vocals), Steve Jones (keyboards), Tony Pook (vocals/percussion), Mike Finesilver (bass) and Terry Gittings (drums) next delivered the follow-up Twice As Nice & Half The Price and then split. In the 90s the musicians reconvened and issued several fresh studio albums.
