Biography
Canadian ambient techno producer Scott Morgan, known as Loscil, joined forces with classically trained cellist Mark Bridges to craft sparse, wintry compositions as High Plains. The pair first connected in 2014 during overlapping residencies at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Loscil followed with the 2015 release of Adrift, a generative music app that incorporated Bridges' cello contributions. Early the next year the duo convened in Saratoga, Wyoming to lay down tracks, an ideal setting for their airy, suspenseful sound. Kranky issued the project's first album, Cinderland, in 2017.
