Biography
Langton helped establish Hawkwind and remained in the lineup for two years, during which he appeared on two of the band’s albums. In 1971 an illness forced him to leave the group, although the separation proved temporary. He subsequently played countless low-profile shows while also collaborating with acts such as the Bonzo Dog Band, Leo Sayer, and Widowmaker. Langton rejoined Hawkwind in 1979 and continued with the band through 1989. After his second departure he launched a solo career yet still performed with Pretty Things and other artists. He died of cancer in December 2012 at the age of 61.
