Biography
In 1975, engineer and producer Alan Parsons joined forces with his associate, songwriter and lyricist Eric Woolfson, to establish the Alan Parsons Project. Across their span of activity, the ensemble crafted concept albums—including interpretations drawn from the works of Poe and Asimov—utilizing a rotating roster of session players. Their 1982 album Eye in the Sky stood as the pinnacle of their achievements, as the title track climbed into the Top Ten on the pop charts while the record attained platinum certification. Later releases proved unable to recapture that level of impact, yet the group sustained a loyal cult following that endured even after recording ceased with the arrival of 1987’s Gaudi.
