Igorrr serves as the alias for Gautier Serre, the French multi-instrumentalist and electronic producer behind the electronic grindcore outfit Whourkr. His solo output fuses frenetic breakbeats with operatic vocals, metal riffs, gypsy violins, and countless additional elements, yielding the visceral, unsettling, and wholly singular impact heard across turbulent releases such as Nostril (2010), Savage Sinusoid (2017), and Spirituality and Distortion (2020).

Self-released early recordings Poisson Soluble (2006) and Moisissure (2008) showcased meticulous drum programming paired with acoustic instrumentation, attracting the notice of Berlin experimental imprint Ad Noiseam and leading to the 2010 issuance of his first official album Nostril. Companion EP Baroquecore appeared the same year via Aentitainment. French outlets Les Inrockuptibles and Trax responded favorably to the heightened sophistication of these works, which also secured rotation on commercial radio; Ad Noiseam followed with a double-CD reissue of the demos in 2011.

Serre broadened his incorporation of live instrumentation on the 2012 full-length Hallelujah, a set of apocalyptic-themed compositions that enlisted an array of guests including Baroque vocalist Laure Le Prunenec and Mayhem guitarist Teloch. A 2013 7" of remixes alongside ragga junglist Bong-Ra surfaced on PRSPCT RVLT, succeeded the next year by the Maigre EP, a joint effort with Ruby My Dear on Ad Noiseam. Following a period of quiet, Igorrr joined the roster of storied metal label Metal Blade, which issued Savage Sinusoid in 2017; the record contained no samples and spotlighted contributions from musicians associated with Cattle Decapitation and Secret Chiefs 3. Spirituality and Distortion arrived in 2020, extending Igorrr’s singular approach to experimental metal.
