Biography
A seven-piece Celtic rock outfit placing greater weight on its rock foundations, the group blended pipes, whistles, and violin with a range of electric instruments. Its roster featured vocalist Leslie Dowdall, violinist Steve Wickham, Brian O'Briaian, Martin Colncy, and Vinnie Kilduf. U2’s Bono discovered the band, securing them a deal with Island before they moved to Virgin, where a string of singles attracted only modest notice. Wickham left in 1986 to join the Waterboys and was succeeded by Angela De Burca.
