Innocence

The lineup of Innocence brought together siblings Mark and Anna Jolley, who handled guitar and vocals, alongside Brian Harris on percussion, Mattie on synthesizer, and Phil Dane in the production role, while Gee Morris contributed prominently to the group’s first album. In March 1990 the act reached the UK Top 20 with the single “Natural Thing,” whose profile was heightened when one of its remixes incorporated a sample from Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.” Further singles followed in quick succession—“Silent Voice,” “Let’s Push It,” and “A Matter Of Fact” in 1990, “Remember The Day” the next year, and “I’ll Be There,” “One Love In My Lifetime,” and “Build” in 1992—each of which entered the charts yet remained outside the Top 20.
