From Puerto Rico, Ismael Miranda entered the sphere of popular music during his early years, performing with assorted neighborhood groups before linking up with Andy Harlow. His first appearance on record arrived in 1967 through a joint album with Joey Pastrana that spotlighted the hit single “Rumbón Melon.” By 1973 he had become a member of Fania All-Stars, where his youth earned him the enduring nickname “Niño Bonito” (Pretty Boy). He soon formed his own ensemble, La Revelación, and issued the well-received album Asi Se Compone Un Son before embarking on an international tour.
