Biography
Jason Sellers, a Texas-born singer and songwriter, spent his formative years journeying alongside his family's gospel ensemble while cultivating an affinity for country sounds. He launched his professional path after settling in Nashville at age 18, serving as bassist for Vince Gill's touring ensemble. Engagements with Billy Joe Royal and Ricky Skaggs' road bands came next, cementing his standing as a gifted vocalist and player. Off the road he concentrated on songcraft, contributing material to Pam Tillis, Lee Ann Womack, Jessica Andrews, Lonestar, and Wade Hayes. His first album, 1997's I'm Your Man, fused those gospel and country foundations and included backing vocals by Gill. A Matter of Time followed two years later, extending Sellers' soulful country style while showcasing cameos from Tillis, Womack, Alison Krauss, and others.
