Biography
Jay Migliori, an original member of Supersax, established himself early as a leading bop-focused saxophonist based in Los Angeles. His career began with frequent performances throughout the Boston region during the mid-1950s. From 1957 to 1958 he performed with Woody Herman's Orchestra prior to settling in L.A. Starting in the early 1960s, studio sessions occupied much of his schedule, though he continued nightly club appearances. Supersax featured him between 1972 and 1984, alongside his regular leadership of personal ensembles. For Transition in 1955, PRB Int. in 1975, and Discovery from 1980 to 1981, he recorded bop-oriented albums.
