Biography
During the final stretch of the 1970s and the first half of the 1980s, Jimmy Spicer issued multiple old-school rap singles. These included the expansive “Adventures of Super Rhymes” on Dazz in 1979, “The Bubble Bunch” on Mercury in 1982, “Money (Dollar Bill Y’all)” on Spring in 1983, and the Rick Rubin–produced “Beat the Clock” on Def Jam in 1985. The last of those tracks also marked Jellybean Benitez’s inaugural remix assignment.
