Biography
Born and raised in Mosinee, Wisconsin, jazz pianist and composer John Altenburgh launched his own imprint Altenburgh Jazz in 1989 before releasing his first LP, Old City, the following year. The arrival of 1992's Vol. II strengthened his developing profile, and Generations, issued the next year, brought him the most favorable notices of his career to date. Heartland '95, 1996's Legends of Keelerville, and 1999's Christmas at Buzz's Restaurant stand among his later projects.
